Hourra! Hourra! Hourra! Sabrez le champagne, j'ai enfin réussi à installer les catégories! J'ai galéré plusieurs heures pour trouver la fonction la plus simple (un LIKE dans le WHERE) parce qu'elle n'était pas documenté sur le site officiel. Trouver la solution parfaite sur un tuto de base, c'est quand même un peu fort de café.
Enfin voilà, je suis content de moi, trois jours pour mettre ca en place sans sacrifier une seule de mes exigences. La vie est belle!
Tant qu'à faire j'en ai profité pour: transformer les mois/année des dates en liens, les titres des catégories en liens, j'ai aussi mis un lien vers les posts précédents et suivants dans la vue post par post (j'ai même pensé à prévoir les premiers et derniers posts, sinon la boucle aurait tourné à l'infini!). Je vois plus trop quoi ajouter pour l'instant, je vais donc pouvoir m'amuser à recoder tout ce petit monde en objet pour me faire la main. On appellera ca un défi à ma volonté, vu que ca marche (pesament) pour l'instant! Etape suivante: publier le code, avec styles gabarits et langues alternatifs, installeur et enfin documentation, pour que le monde entier en profite.
Sinon j'ai peut-être moyen de gagner trois sous en faisant des enquêtes téléphoniques avec la France... Rdv demain matin pour tenter ca. Manque de pot, le sol est mouillé et c'est à l'autre bout de la ville... Tant pis, faut bien bouffer!

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Let champagne flow, I finally managed to set up categories! I spent several hours looking for the right syntax on the official mysql website, before discovering a hint to the most appropriate solution (a LIKE inside a WHEN) in some simple tutorial. Still, I don't understand why the manual doesn't mention this very useful function!
On the whole, I'm pleased to announce that I could add this functionality in only three days, and without sacrificing any of my requirements. Life is fine!
While I was at it, I took the time to linkify the month/year in dates, categories headers, add a link to the former and next post in the single post view (even accounting for the first and last post, so the loop doesn't run "ad infinitum"). Now that i don't think of anything I really need, I think I will start recoding this entirely in object, which could be called a willpower challenge given that everything works (heavily) for the moment! The next step is to package the whole thing neatly with alternative styles and templates, installer and documentation, for the world to enjoy.
Unrelated news: I will try to make phone interviews with France for a survey company, I'll know more about it tomorrow. Only trouble is that it's on the other side of town and the ground is wet...
